QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity:

A unique opportunity has arisen for an “Auction Executive” to play a lead role in building a new C2B online used car marketplace (VavaCars) that leverages our extensive network of petrol stations in Turkey. Reporting directly to the Senior Online Auctions Manager this is an essential role in building, managing and growing our online auction sales, through our own and 3rd party re-marketing channels.

Role Mission:

The Auction Executive is responsible for staging, managing and optimizing auctions on our own platform and 3rd party platforms. You will develop an overall auction strategy and deliver it through a standard operating procedure (SOP) that includes all execution elements including how we price cars, how we set a reserve, and ultimately how we achieve our sales volumes and margin per auction, in a repeatable and predictable way. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • To develop an overall auction strategy across our own auction platform and 3rd party platforms 
  • To convert the strategy into an operating plan with a tightly defined SOP 
  • To ensure we achieve sales and margin targets through all auctions 
  • To create repeatable and scalable processes designed to maximize efficiency 
  • To ensure we develop an automated and tech centric approach to managing and optimizing our auctions 
  • To be the voice of the customer internally and championing their needs in the online auction roadmap 
  • To actively manage and optimize our sell-through-rate (STR) per auction by making data driven and commercially astute decisions on the fly, in real time 
  • To monitor, manage and optimize dealers’ performance and activity to increase our yield per auction 
  • To generate auction policies and to manage all members based on these policies 
  • To collaborate extensively with the Dealer Network Team to drive engagement and activity by all registered members 
  • To collaborate extensively with the Dealer Network Team to identify new dealers worth targeting for recruitment 
  • To collaborate extensively with the Dealer Network Team and build high trust relationships with the highest value dealers / most active dealers across our auctions 
  • To conceive and deliver incentive programs based on members performance
  • To manage and develop the SOP for the transfer of ownership / notary process including the speedy collection of funds
  • To ensure the proper checks and controls during the sale process including but not limited to insurance and outstanding finance checks
  • To be highly analytical and produce insights on auction performance / KPIs and our overall dealer proposition
  • To continually review all auction processes and contribute suggestions for enhancements and improvement
  • To monitor all sales and performance of auctions and provide reporting and analysis to the management team 

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience managing auctions preferably in the online automotive sector.
  • Proficiency using technology.
  • An aptitude for data/numbers and experience creating and working with spreadsheets.
  • Strong written, spoken, listening, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Have a natural ease dealing with customers.
  • Resourceful, “think-on-your feet” person with drive, initiative, and a real commitment to getting the job done.
  • Excellent organizational skills; leaves no detail unattended.
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task multiple projects and initiatives effectively and prioritize work are essential.
  • Highly capable of meeting strict deadlines in a high-pressure, ever-changing environment.
  • Have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented and self-directed. Energetic, can-do attitude!
  • Ability to work and thrive in a growth focused and fast-paced environment

Preferred Candidate

5 - 8 years of experience
