Job Description:
Coordinates and executes, under the supervision of the Rotating Maintenance Supervisor and in agreement with Company Policies and Safety & Environment Standards, the following tasks:
- Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and carries out all types of maintenance on plant rotating equipment such as pumps, gas air compressors, air blowers, gearboxes, power generators, turbine auxiliary equipment, of various types and manufacturers (e.g., Flowserve, Atlas Copco, Howden, Dresser Rand, Flender, etc.).
- Disassembles equipment to be repaired or overhauled, visually and dimensionally checks parts and units using sliding gauges, micrometric gauges, centesimal comparators, compares values found with those on manufacturer tolerance & maintenance reference tables.
- Identifies and requests approval from superiors for required spare parts.
- Use and interprets technical manuals and manufacturer tolerance values. Performs machinery alignment according to standard alignment methods.
- Able to issue a basic technical report related to his job, showing numerical measurements.
- Relays all significant technical information or data to his supervisor that could be useful for future jobs or maintenance planning.
- Ensures the use of proper tools and PPE among his team.
- Able to work as a team leader of multiple nationalities, instruct, and train local junior staff. Assists the supervisor in improving the productivity of local staff.
- Fit to work in confined spaces, heights, humidity, and environmental conditions as the nature of the job may require.
- No issues with traveling abroad and performing duties.
Educational Level and Training:
- Secondary school education supported by optional special courses.
- Proficient in the English language.
- Safety courses and H2S training are optional.
Required Experience:
- Not less than 5 years of experience as a Senior Rotating Mechanical Maintenance Technician in the Oil and Gas Industry, preferably in gas plants.
- Thorough knowledge of using various mechanical gauges and test devices (sliding gauges, micrometers, centesimal comparators, etc.) and comparing related values with those reported in mechanical drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of reading mechanical drawings and interpreting manufacturer technical manuals and instructions.
- Thorough knowledge of the theory of pumps, compressors, and auxiliary mechanical systems.
- No issues with traveling abroad and performing duties.
