Summary

Port Operations department has been running since 2018 and is focused on delivering improvements in the productivity of the vessels and reducing lost time during the port calls. Port Operations Specialist role, called as Port Captain is empowered as ‘the local operations execution person’ to act to improve the efficiency of our Terminal operations. Directly reports to the Operations Manager in Turkey and follows the instructions of GVA HQ in respect to the local environment.

As a Port Operations Specialist your main task is to;

• Follow up live operations
• Coordinate and oversee the MSC vessels at quay
• Discuss berthing program with terminal, secure berths and make gang orders
• Ensure to minimize lost time at quay and maintain vessel program based on schedule requirements
• Monitoring the progress at berth
• Take actions proactively and ready for any of urgent cases to handle
• Secure coordination between agent and terminal to optimize berth and operations
• Work closely with terminal and colleagues within organization to increase berth productivity and reduce port stay
• Monitoring the terminal developments in terms of upgrade on yard or equipment structure  

We are looking for candidates with the following background;

• Preferably, graduated from Maritime University or has a same level degree with sectoral experiences
• Minimum 3 year of experience at agency, vessel or/and terminal operations
• MS Office applications is a must
• Preferably good knowledge of MS Excel (macro level), including Power BI
• Advanced writing and good speaking is highly desired
• Able to adapt flexible and busy working hours
• Effective communication is a must, coordination, planning and controlling skills are required
• Presentative and strong representation ability
• Analytical thinking and dynamic act is required
• Have self-motivation and business discipline
• Having a driving license
