QUALIFICATIONS 

The Research & Development Engineer will be a part of the Mata R&D team. In this role, he or she will participate in development of new materials, components and/or equipment and play a leading role in design and implementation of new manufacturing processes. Within this frame, the candidate will have; 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. An advanced degree in the same field preferred. 
• 1-3 years of work experience, preferentially in R&D / engineering / manufacturing. 
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes used for carbon fiber reinforced materials and/or coating processes and/or experience in polymer processing is a plus,
• Experience in project management is a plus, 
• Ability to analyze problems, define key parameters, identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches and implement effective solutions. 
• Fluency in English 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Perform process development for new or existing products with a focus on in-process product performance analysis and characterization 
• Ensure smooth transition of new products and/or processes from development into manufacturing 
• Produce technical documentation related to products, equipment & processes 
• Conduct feasibility studies to determine capability and/or functionality 
• Coordinate manufacturing of prototypes 
• Plan and conduct experiments and interpret the resultant data 
• Coordinate project activities and maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases
