Indirect Purchasing Specialist

We are looking for a purchasing specialist to be part of the business team of our metallurgical plant. The working location will be Ataşehir, Istanbul. This highly challenging position requires strict time management and result orientation. The position reports to the commercial manager.

BS degree in industrial, mechanical engineering, economics, business management, or similar disciplines

• 2-4 years experience. Heavy industry experience is a plus.
• Good command of English.
• Good knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP knowledge is a plus.
• No restriction for traveling.
• Having a driving license (class B) and currently active as a driver.
• Knowledge of Autocad or similar software is a plus.
• Good understanding of IT and interest in technology.
• Resided in the Asian Side of Istanbul.
• Military service is done for male candidates.
  

Job Description

• The position will be responsible for several purchasing activities assigned to them, mostly indirect purchasing.
  
• Successful candidates shall be assigned with several product or services groups for which she/he will be responsible for all activities with the supplier. Will handle all the processes starting from a purchasing request till all the material or service finds it’s end-user.
• Arranging communication with the foreign suppliers.
  
• Logistics organization both with local and international suppliers.
• Collaborating with the technical colleagues for finding the best price/performance.
• Working on cost reduction.
• Observes and reports the performance of the material or service.
• Finding alternative local suppliers for imported spares.
• Developing suppliers in accordance with the company policy. Negotiating and managing relationships with them.
• Shall handle all the documentation and SAP processes of her/his activities or required for the commercial department.
