QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
For our road construction project in Somalia, we are looking for an enthusiastic team member to take an active role as a 'Project Manager’ to be based in Somalia.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering department
- Minimum 15 years of experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in road construction projects
- Having international project management experience is preferable
- Fluency in English
- Very good command of MS Office applications and presentations
- Very good command of codes and safety regulations
- Excellent communication, negotiation & conflict management skills
- Strong critical thinking and effective problem solving skills
- Very good command in contract management
- Very good command of cost control, procurement management, planning and organization
- Sound knowledge of International Occupational Health and Safety Management Legislations
- Knowledge the Quality Management System Procedures and Instructions
- Keen and effective team player
- Ability to work in multinational environment
- Ability to work under stress
Duties:
- Responsible for the timely delivery of the project, with required quality and within budget by establishing necessary infrastructure and organization in coordination with head office, client and other stakeholders
- Manage proactively all contractual matters related to the project, follow performance criteria within the scope of the contract and defend the company against any contractual breaches and preserve interests,
- Supervise the timely production, submission and reception of documents/reports and make sure appropriate follow-up is made by concerned parties
- Submission of periodical progress reports
- Responsible for coordination and follow up of project realization (control and supervision of project preparation and implementation incl. follow-up activities) during the entire lifecycle of the projects,
- Establishing project budget, planning.
- Monitoring project cost, progress against baseline program
- Assess the project risks, analyze of risk impacts on cost, schedule and other key criteria, set out mitigation measures and monitoring of same and fall-back plans
- Ensure the effective implementation of quality requirements
- Ensure and lead effective implementation of Health and Safety practices
- Subcontractor and procurement management
