DENZAY is an Architecture and Engineering Company working for international superstructure and infrastructure projects.

Denzay is looking for a creative and highly talented Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer, for our projects in different regions of Afghanistan, with the responsibilities and qualifications listed below;

Responsibilities:

• On site quality assurance
• Inspect and approve the Prime Contractor’s Quality Management System
• Material inspection and acceptance
• Site inspection
• Witnessing of tests and control acceptance of test results and QA tests performance
• Maintenance of a document record system for the Contractor’s submittals such as Records of trials, controls, and tests, Material submittals etc.
• Project monitoring, including Risk mitigation, Milestones and timelines, Manpower and resources
• Design verification and certification supported by certified calculations and reporting. Identify deficiencies and missing documents. Design review reports for each area of engineering following the drawing submission of the Prime Contractor.
• Reports on technical evaluation and justification for additional and minor works items.
• Background activities
• Site work summary
• Record of all design review
• Record of pictorial documents and all reports. Each photo shall be labelled, dated and filed for easy retrieval. These records shall be submitted with the Final Report.
• Review of change requests and proposals submitted by the Contractor, Change/variations verification and certification
• Reporting and recording of on-site meetings
• Price estimations, when required
• Convene and chair subject to the TRCO decision, monthly site progress meetings and attend special progress meetings requested and chaired by the contractor. Provide all administration and support to meeting
• Inspection and approval of the Contractor’s Quality Management System.
• Identification and reporting of construction deficiencies
• Attendance and participation in meetings,
• Verify adequacy and calibration of test equipment, application of specified test standards and computation of test results.
• Spot check CQC approved submittals.
• Review contractor’s daily quality control reports (QCR) to assure that they adequately document his/her quality control operations. If reports are not adequate, require the contractor to submit a supplementary report containing the necessary information as specified.
• Hold periodic job-site assurance conferences on CQC/QA interrelationship of activity and effectiveness.
• Participate in the three-phase control process as necessary to assure that the contractor is adequately conducting the required control processes. Attendance at a majority of the preparatory and initial-phase meetings including mechanical, electrical and critical features (i.e., roofing and waterproofing) is required. QAR shall be totally familiar with contract requirements. Ensure that the contractor prepares minutes of each preparatory and initial meeting and includes highlights of each control phase on the daily CQC report. These reports shall be made readily accessible for quick reference throughout the life of the project.
• Conduct QA tests at the job-site to assure acceptability of the completed work. A sufficient number of tests, but not less than 5 percent of the frequency of the CQC tests, should be scheduled to verify CQC test procedures and results.
• Monitor contractor’s procedures for tracking construction deficiencies to assure acceptable corrective action and that an audit trail is maintained.
• Ensure that new work is not placed on unacceptable work or that progress payments do not include the value of non-conforming construction.
• Prepare QA reports and all other necessary QA documentation as detailed below:
• Conduct and Document QA Evaluations of progress/quality. Documentation may include the frequent use of photos and/or videos along with a narrative of why photos were taken and what they represent. Detailed documentation is the key to providing outstanding contractor evaluations or correcting unsatisfactory performance.

Qualifications;

• University degree in Civil Engineering 
• MBA, MSc degrees in Civil Engineering related fields would be an asset
• Relevant work experience of at least 10 years as Civil engineer.
• Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control of construction concrete pavement, airport, taxiway and apron is preferable.
• Experience in international project is a plus.
• Experience with international organizations and companies would be an asset,
• Experience of computer skills and good knowledge of specific Engineering/Management software (AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project, Adobe PDF etc.)
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English is a must
• Knowledge of international codes for the design of infrastructure including Pavement Design for Airfields, Airfield and Heliport Planning and Design …etc.
