Import Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Import Specialist to join our team.

This role will be responsible for managing the import of mostly food and food contact equipments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of import regulations, as well as experience in supply chain management and international trade.

Responsibilities:

-Manage the import of products, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and coordinating logistics

-Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and maintain all necessary documentation/communication

-Monitor product quality and safety, working closely with suppliers and customers to resolve any issues that arise

-Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, serving as a point of contact for all import-related inquiries and issues

-Develop strategies for improving import processes and increasing efficiency

-Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, logistics and finance

-Monitor and analyze import costs with the manager and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies

-Keep up-to-date with industry developments, including changes to regulations with the customs broker

Requirements:

*Bachelor's degree in related fields

*Food engineering is a plus

*Min 1 year of experience in import with a deep understanding of relevant regulations and documentation requirements

*Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

*Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management best practices

*Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*Strong organizational and time management skills
