Job Description:

As an Embedded Software Engineer, within a multi-disciplinary team you will work for the development of embedded software for the Battery Management System (BMS) with a focus on safety and reliability objectives for development of functionally safe battery systems.

Your Role:

·        Implementation of safety critical software for Li-Ion Battery Management System based on high level functional descriptions, block diagrams and models

·        Test and validation of newly developed or existing BMS software

·        Close cooperation with the electronics design engineers for battery system development

·        Assist the certification process for safety critical battery software

Qualifications:

·        Degree (BSc, MSc, PhD) in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar

·        Track record of successfully completed embedded (bare metal programming) software projects

·        Very good software development skills in C/C++, experience with bare metal programming and/or model-based software development and code generation

·        Professional experience in the development of functional safety software (DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ARP4754)

·        Experience in software testing and verification (white/black box testing, static/dynamic testing, unit/integration/system testing)

·        Experience within software configuration management tools, continuous integration, test coverage

·        Experience with digital communication standards (like SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, etc.)

·        Strong analytical skills and structured approach

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Team player, confident in technical discussions, ability to organize and “get things done”

·        Structured way of working, high sense of responsibility, Hands-On attitude

·        Very good English language skills (written and spoken)

Bonus Qualifications: 

·        Hands-On experience for HV battery management systems.

·        Professional experience in the development of military, automotive and aviation systems (DO-254, ARP4754, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, ISO 26262, IEC 61508)

·        Professional experience in CAN, ARINC429, MODBUS ASCII/RTU, RS422/RS485, SPI, etc.

·        Professional experience in Bootloader development

·        Requirements-based design experience (preferably using DOORs)

·        Strong understanding of battery gauging algorithms
