The Role

We are looking to appoint a Sustainability Projects Director to lead the Sustainability team and to provide advisory services, especially in relation to Sustainability building and infrastructures sustainability metrics, including corporate sustainability, energy and health and wellbeing related certification schemes and ESG from systems to city level.

You will join a team that has established a reputation for supporting both Turkish and international projects. We provide advice, design and planning support to major clients in the building and infrastructure sector in Türkiye and around the world. The team is growing and looking for the right candidate to lead the delivery of a wide range of sustainability related projects in the built environment as we support our clients to meet their sustainability objectives and our own commitments to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to support the expansion of climate services.

Minimum Requirements 

• Studies in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or Environmental Sciences,
• Master in Sustainability would be valuable,
• At least 10 years of experience as a project director with similar responsibilities,
• Large experience on leading projects involving sustainability certification schemes and metrics, (BREEAM, LEED, WELL,…), carbon footprint, LCA, building energy audits, carbon management services, climate change assessments, net zero transitions (embodied or net zero operational buildings),transition and  physical risk or related services,
• Experience in the use of energy modelling of buildings using specialized software,
• Experience in sustainable impact quantification (Natural capital, SROI, life cycle costing,..) would be an advantage,
• Experience in climate change and climate resilience projects,
• Strong understanding of political, legal and policy context of climate change related issues,
• Track record of working with the municipalities, IFIs and allies of climate action,
• A very high level of English (fluent in both written and spoken English),
• Knowledge of building / City services (especially mechanical / air-conditioning services)/energy networks,.. would be an advantage,
• Passion for energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment,
• Leadership and people management skills and capacity to integrate in large teams working collaboratively,
• Experience as an integrator of different skills and disciplines applied to the projects,
• Drive for excellence and client focus, listening and analytical skills
