Junior Trader (New Graduate)

We are looking for new graduates that will through an extensive training program become the new commodity traders of Akenerji, owning their own proprietary books and adding value to the shareholders. As trainees you will learn the fundamentals of energy trading (power, gas, climate markets) and take your own trading decisions.  Upon the successful completion of the training program he/she will join a highly competitive team of traders. He/she will be responsible to extract tangible value from opportunities in the commodity markets to reach the predefined profit value either on Over-the-Counter market or via exchanged based products.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Finance or related fields (Master’s Degree is a plus),
• Demonstrable interest in trading at local/global markets; any kind of experience on Commodity markets will be preferred,
• Sharp ability to detect arising opportunities and the ambition to seize them without hesitation to take responsibility,
• Profound experience in computer systems supported with the interest for software languages,
• Distinct arithmetic and analytical skills backed with diligent and structured approach;
• Competitive, assertive, challenger and able to deliver reliable output under pressure,
• Excellent command of English both written and oral and an additional European language will be preferred.

 JOB DESCRIPTION

• Screen Trading, Quantitative Trading and Spread Trading of Power and other commodities (Oil, CO2, Gas, etc),
• Participating in strategy meetings and collaborate with the team on the position management,
• Ensuring business procedures remain maximal,
• Generating ideas and strategies on trading opportunities, product insights and risk management,
• Updating team members with undisclosed market movements,
• Close cooperation with the analysis team to improve internal models’ performance,
• Being a contact point with other companies for business expansion and contractual procedures,
• Maintaining ETRM System requirements in daily basis.
