QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in university
  • Knowledge of foreign trade regulations
  • C1 level English proficiency
  • High communication skills and result oriented
  • Able to use MS Office programs well
  • Experienced in using foreign trade software
  • At least 5 years of experience in foreign trade processes
  • Residing on the Anatolian side of Istanbul


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring issuing of Purchase & Sale Contracts & ensure the accurate data entry of contracts in IT system
  • Liaising with Banks for confirmation & discounting of LC and negotiation of documents & payment.
  • Nomination of vessel to Buyers and issue loading & documents instruction to shippers/suppliers.
  • Appointment of Surveyor/Superintendent for supervision & loading at loading ports.
  • Monitor & follow-up on the receipt of LC from our Buyers and input LC details into IT system
  • Monitoring of shipment: vessel’s position before arrival load port & during loading
  • Co-ordination with suppliers on the completion of loading – like acceptable quantity, fumigation, etc
  • Notify or send appropriation to Buyers upon completion of the finalized load quantity
  • Arrange payment of ocean freight to Ship Owners and input shipment data into IT system
  • Effect payment to suppliers and input purchase invoice data in IT system
  • Co-ordinate with suppliers on the issuing of shipping documents and Insurance coverage.
  • Compilation of all required shipping documents from suppliers for presentation to our Bank.
  • Manage payments to suppliers and to ensure timely negotiation of documents and collection of funds.
  • Update & advise Buyers/Receivers on the status of the Original shipping documents.
  • Following-up customer payments
  • Monitoring the status of vessel’s arrival discharge port, to ensure that Risks are not compromised that funds are received and OBL available for collection/release of cargo.
  • Following closely on vessels discharging to avoid demurrage and other (short weight/Quality) claims
  • Resolution for the settlement of Demurrage /Despatch with Owners/shippers/receivers.
  • Inform Traders on pertinent issues arises with regards to Trade executions, Contracts abnormity, Risks arising from late arrival of vessel, breached of FOSFA rules, or in absence of BL at discharge port. Or anticipate any loading & documents issues that can jeopardize/delayed payment from buyers
  • Updating of shipment data in monthly shipment reports
  • Updating of Insurance monthly reports and take charge of our global insurance policies
  • Check & monitor monthly Debtors’ list
  • Check & verify end month shipments’ accounting.
  • Control of the issuing and cancellation of LOI
  • Maintains professional working relationships with clients
  • Negotiation with bank for Credit financing and confirmation of Letter of Credits
  • Ensuring/controlling the accuracy of account transactions with accounting department.
  • Managing stock control and ensuring that inventory records are accurate.
